COMMHERITOUR

COMMHERITOUR – Community-based models for the sustainable valorisation of cultural heritage crafts:
COMMHERITOUR (Community-based models for the sustainable valorisation of cultural heritage crafts to enhance economic and tourism performance of remote areas of the Danube Region) is a transnational initiative under the Interreg Danube Region Programme dedicated to unlocking the socio-economic potential of traditional craft heritage in rural and peripheral Danube Region communities. The project promotes community-driven approaches to preserve, valorise, and integrate living cultural heritage crafts into local tourism and economic development frameworks. Through inclusive stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and cross-cultural cooperation, COMMHERITOUR strengthens local cohesion, cultural identity, and resilience, while fostering sustainable tourism experiences rooted in tradition. A key outcome is the creation of a transnational HeriCraft Market digital platform to showcase craft attractions, facilitate networking, and disseminate methods and training materials across the region.

COMMHERITOUR boosts inclusive rural heritage valorisation and community cohesion by developing a cross‑border craft tourism market platform that drives social innovation and social entrepreneurship for local socio‑economic development.
