Culinary Trail – Valorising gastronomy and food heritage for sustainable tourism:
Culinary Trail is a transnational cooperation project under the Interreg Danube Region Programme aiming to strengthen sustainable tourism development by valorising local gastronomy and food heritage across the Danube Region. The project supports rural and less-visited areas in transforming culinary traditions into high-quality tourism experiences, while reinforcing local value chains and regional identities.
Through the joint development of culinary routes, pilot actions, and capacity-building activities, Culinary Trail promotes cooperation between tourism authorities, local producers, hospitality providers, and communities. By improving governance frameworks, skills, and visibility of regional food heritage, the project contributes to balanced territorial development, sustainable tourism growth, and enhanced competitiveness of local economies.
Culinary Trail connects ethnic and local culinary heritage to sustainable tourism and regional growth, promoting social innovation and social entrepreneurship through collaborative cultural and economic pathways across the Danube region.
