CULTUR-MONTS

CULTUR-MONTS:
CULTUR-MONTS is a transnational initiative under the Interreg Sudoe Programme aimed at promoting the sustainable development and valorisation of mountain cultural heritage in Southwestern Europe. The project seeks to enhance the economic, social, and environmental potential of mountainous areas by integrating cultural heritage into tourism strategies, local development policies, and community engagement initiatives. Through collaborative planning, capacity-building, and pilot actions, CULTUR-MONTS fosters innovative approaches to heritage management, strengthens local identity, and encourages sustainable tourism that benefits both communities and regional economies.

CULTUR-MONTS supports rural economic transformation by creating a cooperation platform and a shared methodology, developed through European best practices, local experiments, peer-to-peer learning, and the involvement of social innovation research centres, enabling local authorities and support actors to implement practical solutions and strengthen social entrepreneurship.

OUTPUTS:
• Development of strategic action plans for sustainable cultural heritage management.
• Pilot projects showcasing innovative cultural tourism initiatives.
• Capacity-building workshops and training for local stakeholders.
• Creation of guidelines and best practices for heritage-led regional development.
• Knowledge-sharing platforms promoting cross-border collaboration among cultural and tourism actors.
