DECORATOR – Catalysing circular transformation in the built environment:
DECORATOR is a transnational cooperation project under the Interreg Danube Region Programme that positions the Danube Region as a real-life laboratory for circular construction innovation. The project brings together partners from academia, industry, and cultural sectors to co-create and pilot circular economy approaches for architectural practices, construction processes, and materials management.
By integrating ecological, socio-cultural, technological, and economic dimensions of circularity and aligning with the New European Bauhaus initiative, DECORATOR fosters collaborative models bridging traditional knowledge, advanced technologies, and creative design. Through strategic policy development, pilot actions, artistic residencies, and stakeholder engagement, the project demonstrates scalable circular solutions that reduce waste, prolong material lifecycles, and stimulate systemic change in the construction sector across the Danube Region.
DECORATOR advances social innovation and social entrepreneurship by co-creating circular and sustainable practices in the built environment through cross-sector collaboration.
