MEET – Sustainable and Resilient Tourism in the Danube Region:
MEET is a transnational cooperation project under the Interreg Danube Region Programme that supports the development of sustainable, resilient, and inclusive tourism destinations across the Danube Region. The project focuses on improving tourism governance and management capacities by introducing innovative tools, participatory approaches, and evidence-based planning methods. By fostering cooperation among public authorities, destination management organisations, tourism operators, and local communities, MEET aims to balance economic development with environmental protection and social well-being. Through pilot actions, joint strategies, and capacity-building activities, the project contributes to higher-quality visitor experiences, reduced tourism pressures, and more resilient local tourism ecosystems.
MEET improves youth mental health and inclusion by co-creating education, training, and community tools, fostering social innovation and social entrepreneurship in wellbeing and care systems.
