RET-SCOOP

RET-SCOOP:
RET-SCOOP is a transnational project under the Interreg Sudoe Programme focused on promoting citizen-driven energy cooperatives to advance renewable energy deployment and community engagement in the energy transition. The project supports the creation, scaling, and networking of local energy cooperatives, empowering citizens to actively participate in sustainable energy generation and consumption. By combining technical assistance, training, and knowledge exchange, RET-SCOOP enhances the social, economic, and environmental impact of community energy initiatives, fostering local resilience, energy autonomy, and socially-inclusive green growth.

RET-SCOOP advances social innovation and social entrepreneurship by developing shared support methodologies and local cooperation platforms that help rural territories diversify their economies and build Social and Solidarity Economy solutions tailored to community needs.

OUTPUTS:
• Development of support tools and guidelines for establishing and managing energy cooperatives.
• Training programs for cooperative members and local stakeholders.
• Pilot actions demonstrating innovative and sustainable renewable energy solutions.
• Creation of knowledge-sharing platforms and networking events for community energy actors.
• Policy recommendations and best practice frameworks for promoting socially-driven energy initiatives.
